Corbel Partners reap the rewards of building their own back-office solution with Navos

Building bespoke technology for the benefit of the adviser

Corbel Partners was established in 2005 and provides a support network for financial advisers. They needed to upgrade the technology their advisers used and after looking for out-of-the-box software solutions decided they needed to build their own platform. Corbel Partners approached Navos to help them with their technology vision.

As Navos have vast experience in the financial technology space, they seemed like the perfect company to partner with who would understand the challenges faced by our advisers, as well as the FCA regulatory requirements that we would have to adhere to,” says David O’Hara, Director and Co-Founder.

Using their methodology of Discovery, Define and Design, and Implementation, the Navos software engineering team worked closely with Corbel Partners to carefully design and build a tool with the adviser at the heart of it.

To start the process, Navos held several in-depth workshops with Corbel Partners to really understand their technical challenges, map the adviser's journey and define the requirements of the new platform. They then designed the system architecture, ensuring it could integrate with any third-party software suppliers needed, as well as creating wireframes for the user journeys and front-end UX/UI design. Finally, Navos built the tool across four phases using agile methodologies, meaning that Corbel Partners could see the different phases of the project and make tweaks at each stage as needed.

Navos were there every step of the way with our build, ensuring it met all our requirements,” says O’Hara.

Navos are also providing dedicated ongoing second line support and maintenance for the system under their Navos Care service. This means Corbel Partners have structured support agreements in place and a dedicated channel to raise any issues and queries. Navos actively monitors the platform to make sure that it is always available and live, as well as conduct maintenance on the system such as security patches, ensuring that the platform is always working for Corbel’s advisers and if there are any issues they will be resolved promptly.

Working with Navos enabled Corbel Partners to create a platform specific to their advisers' needs, helping them to efficiently onboard and service their clients.
