Late last month, a Claude-powered coding agent went rogue and, in just nine seconds, deleted the company's entire production database and its backups. Car rental businesses relying on the software were left stranded.
The most alarming part? The AI agent later admitted in writing that it understood the rules against running destructive commands but executed them anyway, stating: "I violated every principle I was given."
